Asa and Stumbleine

In 2009, Rob Booth adeptly tagged 'Intimate' by Asa, a refreshing new producer from Southampton, 'the most amazing piece of work i've heard in 2009.' It was clear from the very start that Asa's production skills and sheer musical talent were going to take him places, and quickly. They did. They did. It wasn't long before Asa had drawn the attention of dubstep fans and producers alike, namely KOAN Sound who enthusiastically remixed 'Catch You,' a digital release by Asa on Audio Banquet Records. Asa's style can only be described as unique. Each production is a symphony of emotion, packed with gentle undertones and deep enthralling bass lines. It's also clear that Asa takes delight in somewhat unconventional production methods. This is especially apparent in 'Digital Alchemy,' a track that's percussion is made entirely of original samples recorded in a phone box. Furthermore, Asa's long anticipated release with KOAN Sound on Screwloose Records has seemingly challenged the dubstep scene's perception on exactly how a dubstep track should sound. 'Hesitation,' beautifully crafted and expertly produced, it's like no other dubstep record we've heard before. This reason, among many others including plenty more of possible releases this year, is why we suggest you keep your eyes firmly set on this prominent new producer. Stumbleine is the lo-fi and downtempo side-project from one of the three members of Swarms. No information exists regarding the artist/project; both Bandcamp and Facebook sites are devoid of both biography and picture, leaving the listener free to make their own interpretations. All of his releases are now available through his Bandcamp site: http://stumbleine.bandcamp.com/ « hide
