Formed in 2004 by guitarrist Timo Niemisto, keyboardist Antti Hakulinen and drummer Jari Kuokkanen and fusing classical music, progressive rock and power metal metal, the Finnish act ANTHRIEL can certainly be described as a progressive power metal band. Influences from SYMPHONY X, DREAM THEATER, QUEENSRYCHE, AYREON, YES and even KANSAS can be heard coming from the music that the quintet puts out.
