Anggun (born Anggun Cipta Sasmi) is a Paris-based Indonesian singer-songwriter. Having already had
tremendous success in her homeland since her teenage, in 1995 she moved to London and then Paris
to embark on an international career. Her first international release was 1997's Snow on the Sahara
(and its French version, Au nom de la lune) which sold over one million copies worldwide. Follow-up
albums include 2000's Chrysalis (and its French version, Désirs contraires), 2002's soundtrack album
Open Hearts, 2005's Luminescence and 2008's Elevation. She is currently working on a new album, to
be released later this year. Anggun has become the most successful Asian artist outside of Asia.
