Alex Carpani is an Italian keyboardist and composer born January 7, 1970 in Montreux, Switzerland. Of an Italian father and a French mother, Alex Carpani went to school with classmates Aaron Emerson, the son of Keith Emerson and the daughters of Chris Squire, bass guitarist of Yes. In 1979 his family moved to Italy. He started to compose at 16 after having received a synthesizer from his parents. In 1990 he founded a group named Gemini with another composer. They made two instrumental concept albums and some multimedia concerts with music, images, lights, transparencies and two female dancers. In 1992 Gemini disbanded and Carpani became a solo artist.
