There are a few things I have learned since living in Lancaster, Pa. One is that people hate the Corporate World, but tolerate it. The other is that everyone likes zombies and finds dancing skeletons to be interesting. Of course this is how I see it, and this is much of what my album is about. There are a few things I have learned since living in Lancaster, Pa. One is that people hate the Corporate World, but tolerate it. The other is that everyone likes zombies and finds dancing skeletons to be interesting. Of course this is how I see it, and this is much of what my album is about. This album fist came about at a depressing time in my life when I was living and going to school in Philadelphia. My father had just died, and I found myself snowed- in at my apartment more often than not. It was a tough winter and at the same time, an inspiring one for the start of this album. At this time I had become extremely interested in music as well as film. I have always been interested in both but this was different. I felt it was time to do something; something worthwhile. And I wanted to do it right. Over the next three years I have worked on and off on this project. I only took time off to work on other music and video related endeavors. I mixed half the songs on this CD on the three rivers train that connects me from my home in Lancaster to Philadelphia. The train is a way for the businessman to have a nice sized home in Lancaster and not pay for the expensive smaller house in Philadelphia. And, while living in Lancaster, he does not have to deal with the backed up Schuylkill Expressway each and every day. At this time it I was spending more time at home than at school: working more on my music and photography than my school work. I finally completed my CD in the beginning of 2007, placing two new songs on the album to tie it off. “I Want Nothing” is what I would like to see more of in the world of music. It’s weird, interesting, and catchy enough for people to enjoy. The inspiration for this album came from more musical influences than I can list on this page. But a few key ones are Mum, Gorillaz, Green Carnation and a whole slew more. The album is very keyboard driven, but features a wide variety of instruments from mandolin to an old 80’s Yamaha keyboard. I often hear people say my music sounds like the Postal Service. I think this is the closest thing people can relate to it. But really, it’s the Postal Service on Crack. I think that sums up what this album is: the Postal Service on Crack, and a skeleton or two tossed in for good measure. -AJ Nutter « hide
