A turning point for Bob Seger and his steeping stone to stardom, Beautiful Loser is one of his most consistent efforts. "Katmandu" and "Nutbush City Limits" are the two rockers on here but the rest of the material is more mellow and introspective - maybe expressing his frustration about life on the road and not being famous outside Michigan yet but this is where the album excels.
