3.5 great | Brandon Scott EMERITUS | April 20th 12 | A part of the Youth Attack! music conglomerate, Philadelphia's Salvation have been releasing great and seriously moody hardcore since 2009 with the release of their debut album, Of Unforgiving Wind. Seemingly at odds with the sheer violence of their first album (and sophomore effort, Mortality Interactions) Salvation's latest EP shows the band paying more attention to detail, crafting a set of songs that may lack their previous aggression but more than makes up for it with their obviously more thoughtful compositions. House of the Beating Hell is still very much a Salvation release, but it is easily their most mature to date.
