Awesome vibes for a feelgood winter jam, Final Club from Denton, TX combines a upbeat array of indie pop, garage, and heavy rifts in their vinyl LP "Blank Entertainment". Falling under the color mixing of the three genres, the LP captures all three styles in a perfect chasm of melody, rather than simply creating a mish mash of misshapen sounds from each of the said. Were they want to be aggressive and abrasive, they are. Where they want to be danceable and melodic, they are as well. It combines the best of both worlds and leaves you wanting more. The opener 'Tragic World' sets the bar as it rides through a myriad of distinctive melody. 'Surfing With the Devil' conjures the exact said feeling, and the final two songs, rightfully named 'Blank' and 'Entertainment' go hand and hand, pushing the album to it's feelgood end.
Though none of the songs are under the two minute mark, its something to easily overlook as there is enough happening throughout each song to hold your attention without becoming impatient. Comparisons to Hot Snakes and Marked Men are prevalent, but don't let those comparisons take away anything from how great these dudes are.
