Mystical Experiences to the masses. Simultaneously revolutionizing the genre of Goa Trance and blowing minds across the world,
T.I.P. set the bar pretty damn high for electronic music of its time. Describing
Mystical Experiences is a task in itself and really cannot be considered anything less than a musical journey. Synthesizers stretch and bend through time as Raja Ram lays down some crazy flute melodies. The album has a very ethnic feel to it and definitely has some Indian / Arabic influences. Most of the songs on here consist of a driving trance beat or melody serving as the backbone of the song while sequencers and flutes are layered on top.
T.I.P. start a groove, build upon that idea, strip away all of its elements before reassembling them in a new way once more. They hold your mind in their hands, destroy it, and build it back up from scratch. Like most psy/trance/ambient/dub-whatever, there are trippy spoken word samples, usually tampered with or drenched in reverb. Most notable of which is Carl Sagan's clip in "The Answer" (cause who doesn't love that guy). Long story short, Raja Ram & Co. drop some LSD soaked grooves and help pioneer the ever-growing Goa Trance scene. Sit back, inhale, exhale, and let the psychedelic jams float on by.
