Review Summary: Was this necessary?
Let me set this straight. The „White Girl Mob“ was a stupid idea. Like, really stupid. And it's not that I have a problem with it's members (Which I have, except for Kreayshawn), but it's general premise is idiotic. White hipster chicks rapping about how street they are? Oh, come on. But out of all their members, V-Nasty is the worst offender.
Which brings me to this album. First of all, who came up with the idea that V-Nasty and Gucci Mane would fit together? Would record a decent album? Would make something worthwhile? I mean, we're talking about two of the most made fun of and hated rappers out there at the moment. But this should not be a problem right? Even the most hated artists were sometimes able to record something actually good. This could also be the case here, right?
No. Hell no. I don't even have to talk about single songs off this album. Because they all sound the same. The beats try to sound extra-thug and badass, but come off as incredibly goofy. Gucci sounds half-asleep and kinda like he has a towel in his mouth. V-Nasty on the other side gives a „nice“ contrast. Her nasal delivery complete with the unnecessary overpronounciation of certain words comes around as incredibly forced. Needless to say, not a single decent flow is found on this record. They rap completely offbeat and without consideration of the beat whatsoever.
The lyrics are a completely different monster. And I don't feel the need to talk about them. Just listen to the track „White Girl“ to see what I mean.
This record also completely fails as a record itself. The songs are all incredibly samey sounding and get boring after the first listen. No hook will be stuck in your head. Conceptual continuity? Please, if you would want that, you wouldn't be listening to a Gucci Mane album.
So, in conclusion, this is a completely unnecessary record that could have been made by a dozen other rappers, with horrid beats, hooks, lyrics and flows. Even if you are a fan of both Gucci and V-Nasty you should avoid this. Everything they made on their own is better than this album.
