Review Summary: All in all, it's a good listen. It's something you want in your iTunes. I expect to see much more of Fisher K. I feel like if he keeps going with what he's got, he'll be great. I give it 3.5/5 stars.

"Free Fisher", the first release from Fisher K. The leader of the upcoming group, The F-Team Rascals. First off, lets talk about the cover. The front cover is Fisher sitting on steps wearing tube socks, a Bob Marley shirt and a hat that says, "Fisher K." on it, the photo is sepia with black text saying, "FREE FISHER" in the top left corner. This cover really sets the tone for the album, it gives off a sad vibe which I love. Now, before we get into the review, lets remember that Fisher is only fourteen.

Now for the actual tracks, I've narrowed the tracks down into two categories, there's the sad tracks and the happy tracks. On tracks, such as Free Fisher, Carnival, Loiter, Kickin', and Otis, Fisher shows off his great rhyming skills, these are the happy tracks. His flow has something special about it, the hilarious punchlines, the lisp, I don't know; here's an example:

"Tracks are packin' heat like fifty guns/It's pretty nifty, huh?/Fish flows kinda fresh like a spiffy tux/And my fans got my ego big like fifty black bitches' butts/And this kid right here gives zero fucks/"

Then there's the sad tracks where Fish takes it on a serious note, April, Stalk III, Love Ballad, September 18th, Gee Wilikers, and You Know Me. All these seem to have a reference to a girl, that from what I could take from the songs, broke Fisher's heart. Stalk III stuck out to me. Stalk III stuck out to me because it's in two halves, the first half tells a story of stabbing someone in an alleyway, and the second half tells the story of locking someone in a basement and breaking their knees with a bat. My favorite line out of this group of songs is:

"Not having you bothers me like masturbating with an itchy knee/You ate my heart viciously/Man, I swear bitches be crazy, but she ain't a bitch, she's a lady/"

I also really like the interlude, "TOFTPWDGAF" it gave me a chuckle that he made an interlude for "The People Who Don't Give A Fuck"

The whole album is produced by Fisher, his production's okay, not great, but okay, it needs work. But lyrically, he's amazing. The production on "April" which is just an instrumental is beautiful though.

The lyrical content of the album varies greatly, one song he'll be talking about, "Three days ago, my girlfriend stopped loving me." and on the next song, he'll be talking about, "Chronic masturbater/Atomic rap maker/Sonic, I spit flows fast and I take breaks later." With Fisher, it's either you love him and his witty sense of humor and multi-sylable lines or you hate him and his constant complaining.

Not to mention, this release has no features, it's him, all him. The thing you need to understand about Fisher to like his work is that he's weird and he knows it and really doesn't care what anyone else thinks, I mean; why else would he talk about masturbation on track? He's said he doesn't care what anyone thinks.

"But I know that you know that everybody knows that I sure as Hell don't give a fuck what you think/So fuck what you think"

My favorite song on the whole album though is Carnival or Kickin', both just have back to back hilarious punchlines, I can't get enough of this kid.

The Eminem influence in him is obvious on tracks such as, September 18th, Stalk III and Free Fisher. Listening to this will put you in the mindset of a very angry teenager. I liked it. After all, he's cooler than Winter nights, right?

EDIT: Disreguard the art for this review because it was for an old work of his which this review was originally about, but he added a few new tracks and changed the album name and art and re-released it so I updated the review, the artwork just won't update, see the artwork where the download is. Thank you.

Free Fisher.

"First off, lets talk about the covers. The front and back covers are black with a red cursive font, which doesn't really say much about the album, but it makes it feel dark and I like that."

unless you're talking about tracks that are covers, or the album art literally blows a hole out of the back of your head, this paragraph is completely unnecessary.

"Now for the actual tracks, I've narrowed the tracks down into two categories, there's the sad tracks and the happy tracks."

you know, i teach fourth graders with this SEL program i'm a part of, and i swear to god i teach them the difference between happy and sad. fourth graders. get some better words brah.

sad songs about heartbreak? VIVA LA REVOLUTION! but no seriously is that it?

"Stalk III stuck out to me because it's in two halves, the first half tells a story of stabbing someone in an alleyway, and the second half tells the story of locking someone in a basement and breaking their knees with a bat."

there is a difference between sadness and fury. it doesn't sound like the track, by your description alone, is very sad at all. but, then again, i wouldn't know that because the description is so hopelessly vague.

"8/10 tracks on the release were produced by Fisher K. himself, his production could use some work (COMMA) but lyrically, he's great. He needs to grow right now, but for a fourteen year old's first release, this is great."

i shouldn't learn that this is a 14 year old by this point in the review, that sounds kind of important. i know i didn't listen to the album (sue me), but a review should mention the important facts (like an extreme age) pretty early. yeah and you need that comma.

"After all, he's cooler than Winter nights, right?"

i hope this is a person and not the season because if it is i will feel retarded.

do work son.

"The Eminem influence in him"

So he's got a little eminem inside him. Can I talk to that little eminem now? Is he here with you?
