In Set It Off's new EP, they decide to take a route taken by their predecessors - a more theatrical, yet still very much pop punk direction. The vocals sound even more like your usual post-hardcore whines and the bombastic tone is often hit or miss. But overall, they pull off a coherent, slightly darker, and certainly intriguing pop punk album. An album similar and different than many bands before them, but one that won't be turning heads.
