Review Summary: Shyaithan and his buddies invite us to chant their blasphemous "gospel", however, piety people would be advisable to stay away from such satanic temptation...

Hailing from Bedok Central, Singapore City, Impiety were claimed by critics and Southeastern Asia metal enthusiasts as one of the most famous black/thrash acts from South East Asia region, or perhaps, Asia continental in general. Such claim surely has a base or foundation. Impiety have been exist since 1990 and already made a name for themselves among metal fans. Not many Asian black/thrash acts could survive and keep on working on musical creation for about two decades. Impiety, absolutely have passed the difficultness of standing out themselves as a band unit, despite today's line up, vocalist and bassist Shyaithan remains the only original founder/member who still holds out even with numerous line up changes for this last two decades. Regarding Salve the Goat...Iblis Exelsi, probably this EP is the best introduction to any extreme metal enthusiast who wants to know about their early musical touch.

Impiety have showed their great talent throughout the course of the eight-minutes of music featured here. Production quality is good enough, but people who love somewhat raw sound definitely won't be disappointed with it. All instrument balanced to each other, no overwhelming part. Guitar sound is quite clean and clear; the listeners will be able to enjoy and get the riffs well. The bass is pretty audible, while vocals nicely fitted the intensity side of music, despite it also not so special, even so, still, the listener can feel the gloomy atmosphere of black metal. The drumming is well-done too; thrashy, strong and ferocious with a few blast-beats here and there. Above all, the drummer delivered it in a full-stamina play. Song composition deserves a good appraisal; it's adequately varied and original, but, it also probably would remind people to another acts such as Profanatica or even Blasphemy. Compared to debut LP, Asateerul Awaleen, this EP would be more satisfiable and better in both production quality and musical concept. This EP not only pictured Impiety's early musical work, but also successfully convinced the fans to keep up with them always.

In the end, this EP is worth more than just a few listens. It contains only two songs with only about eight minutes of music. As mentioned earlier, it's a perfect introduction to any other Impiety's release. If you click with this stuff, probably you will dig their full-length albums too, yeah who knows, Impiety will be one of your favorite black/thrash band.
