Review Summary: D-Beat Crust that will wreck your dirty slut butt...

A friend of mine was lucky enough to hear Fukpig draining from my speakers several weeks ago only to comment: “Why not take a cheese grater to my dick?”…Truly eloquent in its brevity and, spot on. 'Spewings Upon A Selfish Nation' offer yet another slab of D-beat violence equivalent to its connotations depicting Armageddon, foreign conflict, mass suicide, and other inescapable pleasantries that are graciously bestowed upon us. All cards on the table, this listen is for lack of a better word…..painful. And that’s exactly what Fukpig set out to do. One full spin of this puppy will leave many contemplating the notion of mainlining Draino. Regardless, the ravenous D-Beat crust at work here will be gloriously hated and openly embraced.

The chanting at the beginning of album opener ‘The Horror is Here’ provides one of few glimpses of melody. From there it’s all rhythmic rape with very little conceivable differentiation from one tune to the next. This verbal depiction may seem completely asinine in its interpretation but one listen of this album will send most running for the hills. It’s never easy giving a well rounded consensus of this type of meandering. The drum beat remains a constant double pedal groin kick from start to finish as vocal lines grunt, squeal and howl. The guitars do provide a blackened rhythm to the carnage but manage to stay veiled behind the continuous onslaught of the aforementioned. Still, this is to be taken at face value. Blackened crust has never sounded this gratifying when a thrashing is desired. ‘Millions Dying’ and ‘Thrash Armageddon’ are nicely refined numbers with some tasty guitar licks that finally receive ample dominance over the tortured screams and punishing drum work.

Let’s face it, Fukpig are completely content with their brand of blackened crust, and that’s entirely a good thing. It’s always refreshing to see a tightly knit unit stay true to the original formula, and while this can’t be routinely digested, many are sure to get their jollies off with this outing. Enough is enough. Dig this one up and prepare to be owned.
3.9/5

While I am probably the only one who actually enjoyed Anaal's Passion, this owns it.

not blackened crust

these guys have some of the shittiest sounding drums on the planet. they could easily sub in a drum machine to accomplish the same task this assbag gets away with. im fine with every song having a d-beat rhythm but he has no ability/isn't trying to fill at all and it sounds like hes beating on fisher price plastic dickshits. guitar production sucks too can barely hear it

this and their sophomore are decent at best

Alachlahol you rascal. I must respectfully disagree. The production, although shitty, has a grimier quality to it that merely adds to the atmosphere on this. What are some crust and grind you would rec?

examples of d-beat crust bands who execute the style very well:

Discharge - Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing
Tragedy - Vengeance
Pisschrist - Victims Of Faith

crusted grind/grinded crust:

Disrupt - Unrest
Extreme Noise Terror - A Holocaust In Your Head
Mass Grave - 5 Years Of Grinding Crust-Core
Phobia - Cruel

Heard a track from their other album earlier, sounded sweet, will get the album tomorrow, unless I forget, so I've written myself a lovely little comment here to remind me to download it.
