I had heard of this band before, but didn't think anything too special about their first album. One day a few years back i found a copy in a used CD store's local music rack. Best buy ever. This album is a lost classic to the ages, it is a shame that the CD has become incredibly hard to find and they never made the jump to iTunes. There is a group of pop-oriented songs like New Hope PA and Why Don't You, which gives a strong pop feeling at the beginning of the album. The center of the album contains the songs Love, Secondhand Lines, and One Night In Menlo Park. The lyrics of all three are clever and interesting, some of my favorites. Great instrumentation. The best songs off the album are without a doubt the songs from the end of the album- T. Rex Devours the Glitterati and My Permanent Guest. These are by far the most powerful tracks musically, lyrically, and physically. You know a song is good if it still gives you goosebumps every time you listen to it. I strongly recommend to anyone browsing the internet finding this album to buy it- and take advantage of the two free songs on Last.FM.
