Cherish The Light Years feels like it is channeling the songwriting of an early Brian Eno, sung by Robert Smith of The Cure. The modern rock edge of the production is tight as fuck, bringing something that feels completely new and fresh to this modern retro synthpop revival thing, a genre which by all rights should probably have died off in the 80's despite living on in various forms. Cold Cave has certainly gone a long way to changing my opinion on that.
