Review Summary: This is not skramz. This is beyond that.

Mexican screamo scene has been there for a few years now, and along with other Latin America countries and Spain(and screamo scenes all over the world) experimentation started, bands like Maladie and Satie have the neocrust feeling kind of the one Ekkaia had. Both bands (Maladie and Satie) share members with Walle which is hard to describe in one word. Vomito de Notas is very experimental so it would be unfair to just call it screamo.

Vomito de Notas samples Sin Ti by Los Panchos thus making this album feel extremely Mexican. Even if is just the intro for the first song, I feel like this is mine this is not "the Mexican Orchid" nor CTTS neither Saetia. This is Walle being Walle and doing an awesome job at it.
Music is not the only thing they borrow thou. The first song lyrics quote the bible, then they go and make up some quotes like in the song "Mientras mas conozco a la gente mas quiero a mi perro"(the more i know about people the more i love my dog) that they attribute to Diogenes of Sinope.

And like Diogenes they talk about how technology makes us kind of useless (Kind of ironic where i'm writing this. Isn't it?), about conformity and the like. They are one of those philosophic screamo bands. But beyond their message, the way Walle express it, their music is very very "avant grade" in what respects to the scene they belong, they are not afraid to draw influences from everywhere this is not just neocrust/screamo, this is not just jazzy screamo nor just post-rockish screamo neither post-hardcore. But they have a bit of this and that here and there, they sound like an emo violence band at times and then they follow that sound and let it flow into something bigger and beyond that genre.

Last track(the longest one) changes direction after 40 seconds of craziness. As pretentious as this may sound this track is nothing but 8 mins of hard experimentation. And is one the best way this album could've been closed.

Well, it was a decent review, until the second paragraph. You lost me there.

I like foreign experimental/screamo/whatever music though. So I'll probably check this out.

yeah, well this was my first review and as english is not my first language it was a little bit hard, by the way you can listen to it (and read their lyrics in case you know spanish) at their bandcamp http://walle.bandcamp.com/album/v-mito-de-notas Oh and by the way the album release date is wrong, this is from june of the last year.

Ah okay, no worries. There were just a few awkward sentences, but not too bad otherwise.

Awesome, I did download it from their bandcamp, but I might read the lyrics since I can generally understand Spanish. It might be nice to know what they're saying.

well what i was trying to say is: this is a band that could represent mexican screamo scene without the need to compare it to the big/essentials band, cuz this do not sound like any of them. and about the lyrics, if you have any doubt about them just leave me a shout and i'll try to translate it for you (way more natural than the robot-speak google translator is)

Haha, awesome, thanks.

I'm getting the general idea of most of them, so I can understand what certain songs are about... But I'll shoot you a shout if I need any translations, thanks.

Hey, they're not screamo, but they're good.

If you haven't heard of them check out Guadalupe Plata. They're kinda like a swamp rock band from Spain, and you can get their album off of their bandcamp for free.
