The third and fifth movements are soaring emotional pieces, but the overbearing silence in much of the music achieves not the control or nervous tension it aims for, but at its worst exhibits a lack of direction. Not to take away from the glorious finale, which along with the third movement alone takes this up to a 4/5, but I think the overbearing silence made for a sporadically aimless effort, at least in the rendition I chose to listen to
