Blunkmonkey, the name is really quite impressive, if that wasn't enough, thier debut album "Aware of the smell" makes a bold statement. If I never listestened to another album in my whole life I wouldn't care. This one is a serious hit and I'm not just saying that. I've listened to alot of Metal in my time and I tell you what, you ain't never heard of something like this. I'd like to say there are elements from other bands here, bits and pieces even, but I just can't put my finger on it. They are a new sound altogther that brings an exciting new element to this old genre. The only thing I can see wrong is that there are only eight tracks on this album. For a debut album, that's not too bad I guess, but they are all quality songs. I think rather than "fluff" the album with medeocre songs to fill in the gaps and increase track counts, they went all out on each and every single song to produce something that is quite amazing and provides a much needed breath of fresh air to the scene. I rate this a Classic album, and I'm sure once you give them a listen, you'll know why. I'd like to hear from people and read thier comments, so let me know if you agree!
