4.0 excellent | BallsToTheWall | January 8th 11 | An audio trek through a lonesome forest during the winter time. You stop to make camp, pitch a tent starting the fire, pouring the hot cider and cooking lamb stew with your bear fur to keep you warm. But not even all these things can prevent the frostbitten cold from piercing your skin and soul until there's nothing left but a permanently entombed human statue lying by the pine trees, just waiting to be found in this bittersweet moment of tranquility. I haven't heard such a frosty, sorrowful piece of ambient black metal since Forest Silence's Philosophy of Winter,or Coldworld's latest, or any Paysage d'Hiver. The record puts you into a realm of eternal sadness and emotional decay while the icy windswept atmosphere engulfs you into utter blackness. The statue finally breaks into fragments over many years of solitude, just showing you mother nature's indifference and wrath towards man.

3.5 great | zaruyache | June 9th 19 | Slow atmospheric black metal in the vein of Burzum, but more satisfying in its ambience.
