Review Summary: SUP
French people rule. While many people seem them as cowardly snails they have given us some great *** over the years such as the bicycle, french fries and a whole nation to make fun of. These fine people have also delivered us some amazing music over the years and this is a good example. The Cube is far from a traditional death metal album. Most songs on the album are slow to mid tempo, which is good for when youre in the mood to relax hard to some DM. Each track has an eerie atmosphere that will either make you *** your pants or bask in the ambience. The album bares similarities with Voivod, and if that isnt enough proof for you that this rules, the fact they are frogs should be. The riffs on this album stand out as being rule. While they arent exactly technical, they are creative and vary from dissonant riffz to gothenburg riffs but without the gay. Tracks like Souls Speculum and the title track stand out as the best examples of the unusual riffs, *** it rules. The vocals compliment the music brilliantly. The clean vocals are similar to those of denis belanger while the growls are guttural and dont take no ***. After this album the band went on to make some ***ter albums and they eventually changed their name to SUP which is pretty ***in gay, but they are still rocking to this day.
Basically this rocks. While the album is pretty short at 38 minutes, it is probably the perfect length as the DRONE and atmosphere can only be done so hard, it would become monotonous and lame if it was like an hour or some ***. I recommend this to everyone on this site although probably less than 3 people will check this out but its worth a shot, and even though justice wouldnt dig it, i'm sure jom and hanson would if they gave it a chance.
