Review Summary: dime in his prime
When you hear Pantera you think WALK, you think ***ING HOSTILE, you think rip dime but i do not. i think PROUD TO BE LOUD and the album cover. This album was made in the period when it was cool to dress like chicks and make ***ty music, but pantera were slightly different because they made good music instead. The music is almost as good as cowboys from hell but lacks the thrash groove, its more hard rock with a metal edge if that makes sense, if it doesnt then neg. The album starts off with Rock the World which is a hard rockin simple riff driven anthem. The song is kinda samey but at the end phil shouts world really crazy and high and it rules. The title tracks main riff is ***ing awesome, like seriously classic material but does it get mentioned in any polls? the answer is no. Next up is a ballad, but not your typical 80s cheese fest, while there is some cheesey bells and lyrics, but dime is still there? i think thats the main reason this rules, its like they made a some generic 80s poofter songs then dime came along and made everything ***in metal as ***, honestly the solo to this song is so good like almost cemetery gates level, kinda of. over and out is another hard rockin riff fest same old *** next. all the other songs kinda blend into each other and it rules but lets skip to the song we've all been waiting for, P*S*T*88. This song is one of the best metal songs ever made. Featuring dimebag (rip) on vocals the lyrics rule and remind me of myself in my younger years, also the solo riff thing 1:43 is one is rip your face off shred. I am totally serious when i saw this is a great and underrated record, this is almost on par with cowboys and better than FAR BEYOND and all the other bro stuff. check it out if you dig hard rock/ metal, or dug cowboys but never checked their older stuff out.
