Keep Shelly in Athens is a pretty outlandish band name, which couples all too well with the shroud of mystery that they’ve managed to obscure themselves behind. But despite the likelihood of finding elitism at the root of such an action, when the World Wide Web has finally forsaken the attempts of hipsters and music snobs to search for the meaning of a band’s music via blogspots and Pitchfork, maybe it’s a good time to just hit play and see where that takes you.

It takes you to a twenty minute long, overwhelmingly atmospheric, presentation of what it might feel like to fall in love with dusk. From the get-go, it’s apparent that this Grecian duo understand better than most bands how to appropriately title a collection of songs.
In Love With Dusk is comprised of six songs that perfectly capture that darker stage of twilight. This band has a downtempo groove seriously worth dimming the lights to; to be enveloped in shadows, drifting effortlessly through the crisp darkness, and following each slow churning beat into the next sprawling vibe. Each song folds ever so smoothly into itself, reverses the fold, and then repeats in a similar fashion until achieving a sufficient calm.The band's sound is a little sensual, a little strange, a little naked, but most especially mellow.
“Fokionos Negri Street” offers the perfect soundtrack to a slow romance hidden beneath bedsheets, and “Cremonia Memories” plays to the tune of a couple forgetting that they’re not alone on the dance floor. While “Don’t Be Afraid” attempts to instill fear with its peculiar arrangement of tones, “In Love With Dusk” reacts with instructions on how to carelessly and aimlessly wander through the close of the day.

In Love With Dusk. The EP slowly crawls towards the infinite abyss of darkness and basks in the possibility of an intimate encounter before the ruin of sunrise. This is a love letter. This is the softest goodnight kiss followed by an invitation to wait around a while longer. This is a band to keep an eye on, and one to hope to see reveal a few more secrets of the night's mysteries whenever they appear next.
