One gets the impression that the band was listening to a lot of Sepultura's 'Roots' during the writing of this album, as this album attempts a similar wielding of groove in a more extreme setting (at least on a superficial level). This results in a somewhat patchy release. The murkier attributes of Allen West's playing are sadly sacrificed on the altar of groove and are only really allowed to flourish on 4:20, a meat-headed ode to weed destroyed by Barnes' attempts at cleaner vocals. That's not to say that Warpath doesn't have it's moments, rather that those moments are simply too few and far between for anyone to bother with this release.
