Review Summary: U mad bro? These dude's definitely are.

Demeanor is a two piece from Kentucky, consisting of a vocalist/guitarist and a drummer. An extremely talented two piece that sounds like a complete band. Their sound is thick and layered; heavy as that guy who died fused to his couch in Ohio.

Dudes have been referred to as a "harcore/grind based act"... in other words, they're one of those gray area bands. What we have here is 12.6 minutes of mind-raping post blackened sludge-grind, with a misanthropic atmosphere to give Kierkegaard a run for his money. That sounds dumb as hell, I know, and it was kind of the point. Trying to describe Demeanor as hardcore or grind is just silly, it's far too out there, but it's brilliantly cohesive and distinct in feel. The Slugs Throne consists of many drastic transitions, such as an epic "post black metal"-esque riff, and the next moment the song's three times faster and dissonant as all hell, the prime example of this being the ending of the first track A Stable Life, A Bright Future.

If Demeanor keep up with work of this caliber, they could easily become a major fixture in underground extreme music circles. There isn't a single boring moment on this entire release; it flows nearly flawlessly from start to finish, over and over again. I've seriously listened to it around three times in a row while writing this, and honestly, I'm not sure if that count is accurate, nor do I care, because the point is that it has immense replay value. The EP really has immense everything, especially aggression. So if you're a fan of highly dynamic music, and like your coffee served pissed-the-***-off, then this is for you.

P.S. the breakdowns are brutal.

IDK man, the bass is generally inaudible anyway in most music like this.

And wow a neg with zero clarification whatsoever, how surprising.
