Wandering, anxious and melancholy in a sound that combines noise rock, shoegaze and post-rock elements but honestly just feels like a band vibing out more than any other record of recent memory. Whether it is vibing out or focused songwriting, warmachine produce songs that have some of the best emotional peaks of the year and smash together anger and sadness in a truly powerful manner. The production is raw in all the right ways and it feels like you are getting a live performance of the record every time you press play. 'noita' is probably the best track here and it showcases everything the band is capable in a 10 minute journey. The track meanders for about two-minutes with scratchy guitars and backing drums before soft, melodic vocals take the torch for a few more minutes. Before long the song turns anxious and dissonant and builds in intensity until the last few minutes where it all just feels like break apart and dissolve wonderfully. Feels fortunate to come across this group in the nearly infinite musical landscape of 2026 and rooting for more material in the future. Gorgeous hidden gem.
