Review Summary: ROCK IS ALIVE ONCE AGAIN
Greta Van Fleet – *Palace for the People* Review
This is probably their most polished album, and perhaps their best one yet. Greta Van Fleet holds a special place in my heart, especially because of The Battle at Garden’s Gate, which I consider one of the greatest rock albums of all time. It was a turning point for the band, the moment they found their own authentic sound. *Starcatcher* was the album that erased any remaining doubts about Greta Van Fleet sounding like other classic rock bands.
*Palace for the People* is an album that captures lightning in a bottle and puts the band on the right path. “Born into This” has a Western vibe, driven by Sam’s distinctive bassline, which really defines the song. That is one track I would particularly highlight.
“Saw You Stand” is an innovative song, something I have never heard anyone compose or approach in quite the same way.
“Field of Stars” is personally my favourite track on the album. It takes me to another dimension, with that cheerful, driving energy that I absolutely love.
Overall, the lyrics resonate deeply, touching on themes of making dreams come true, moving forward, and understanding that every love is a life experience in itself, and that not a single second spent with that person is ever wasted. With this album, Greta Van Fleet offers a more complex and nuanced perspective on love.
All things considered, *Palace for the People* deserves a **4.5/5**.
