I didn't think there'd be a ton of fanfare here necessarily but I didn't expect actual tumbleweeds lol. I know Jesse is catching some steam virally (a kick ass near improved non-electric performance at Chicago's Wiener's Circle among more), but that threatening hype train aside, this is really great stuff. He sounds like 40 artists in your head (obvious Dylan and Prine fingerprints everywhere), while sounding somehow entirely new and fresh and nice. Lyrics sheets filled with wit and intellect and introspection amongst lively, and lively subdued, Americana seems easy to do until you realize it isn't and this sounds easy.
