"but the forty-minute runtime is well -ultiized- for the adjustments at hand."
Small typo in your last paragraph, but very well written review!

appreciate the riffs and hooks here but think this band is just too light and airy for me, i like my post-metal to have some punch and weight to it

Man this year has been pure doom metal heaven; Monolord, Kal-El, Warning and now this. Slap the latest All Them Witches and Elder records for psych/prog stoner for good measure as well.
Great review btw!

Digging this quite a bit, its been a good soundtrack for my roadtrip. Also the opening riff on Transient sounds straight off of Oceanic

Even though “The Vessel” and “Cloudfall” are somewhat similar, I think the album flows better if you switch them places.
Very happy with this record overall. “Aerial Birth” brings back that smooth vibe of their older records. Almost dub/roots influenced but not quite. Cool stuff.

I'll give it a go, although Rezn has been a tough like for me in the past.

Still prefer Chaotic Divine just because its more dense and maybe darker, but the songwriting here is top notch. Most songs have something memorable and unique imo

Chaotic Divine is prob their most unique due to its dub vibe all around

Their collaboration album with Vinnum Sabbathi is worth checking out as well. Sounds like part 3 of Solace/Burden.
