Almost ten years after their latest album, the Toadies return with a solid release in which punk-rock energy is paired with classic-rock riffs. I am not very familiar with the group and its music legacy, but The Charmer is a vibrant release with many hooks and a nostalgic feel from the 90s alternative era. As this was recorded live at the studio with minimal overdubs, it sounds very alive and spontaneous. Tony recommends: "The Charmer", "Come to Life", "Ash's Theme", "I Wanted to Be Everywhere", "I Walk a Line", "Closer to You".
