Review Summary: Lancaster brings his energetic pop punk with him to his new band Go Radio. And although it's not as good as what he did in Mayday's 'A Lesson in Romantics', this EP still produces some catchy songs.
When I first listened to Jason Lancaster while he was with Mayday Parade, I believed that he had the perfect voice for pop punk. 'A Lesson in Romantics' is probably the best pop punk album i've ever heard. Lancaster's music was instantly catchy on the album and I believe that without Lancaster, Mayday wouldn't be as known as they are now. On the first listen of Lancaster's new band Go Radio on their new EP 'Do Overs and Second Chances', you can tell that Lancaster hasn't slowed down his energized pop punk since leaving Mayday 3 years ago. His music with Go Radio isn't as good as the music he crafted with Mayday, but him and his new band still make an effort on this EP that is worth listening too. I will review each song.
1. When Dreaming Gets Drastic
I first listened to this song when Go Radio released it on their myspace page. I started loving this song at first listen. This is a fast, energized pop punk song that is so catchy that you'll be humming it for a long time. A very strong opening song and one of the best songs on the EP.

2. Thanks For Nothing
I also listened to this song when Go Radio released it on their myspace page. This is another insanely catchy song that will stick with you for a long time. While still a strong song, it still isn't as good as 'When Dreaming Gets Drastic' though ithis is more musically interesting than it. So far this EP doesn't disappoint.

This song instantly got me. This is a great song and another one of my favorites on the EP. You can't help but tap your feet to this one.

4. It's Not a Trap, I Promise
This is the first song on this EP that is only ok. This song is only mildly catchy and won't stick with you for a while. This is still a good song, but the first 3 tracks overshadow it.

My feelings for this song are pretty much the same is the previous track. Refer to the previous song for my feelings on this song.

6. You Hold Your Breath, I'll Hold My Liquor
This is my favorite song on this EP. This song pretty much has the same effect on you as the opener 'When Dreaming gets Drastic', but has differences to it that make it the best. It is like they took the opener, found ever little flaw and fixed it, and wrote better lyrics. Can't stop listening to this song!

7. Goodnight Moon
This is the third song that I heard on Myspace. This is easily the worst song on the EP. I am usually a fan of Lancaster's softer songs, but this song was a stinker. The lyrics are absolutely cheesy, and so is the music. It is also runs for 5 minutes and gets pretty boring after awhile. A disappointing ending to a great EP.
Overall, this album is pretty good. What I didn't mention in my track-by-track is that the EP is very repetative. The only song that was different was 'Goodbye Moon', and it was the low point of the EP. Despite the cons of this EP, I expect these songs to stick with me for awhile just like the songs in 'A Lesson In Romantics'.
