"Casablanca Moon/Desperate Straights" is a pleasant and interesting compilation of Slappy Happy
that includes two of their best contributions to prog. "Casablanca Moon" is considered one of
their best works and a step forward compared with their debut work. It's a quirky set of oddball
cabaret pop tunes, simple, yet sophisticated in the old European fashion, but with a more
contemporary sense of whimsy. "Desperate Straights" is a great album for all fans of RIO/Avant-
Prog sound. The music here is as demanding as it's playful, a great collaboration between both
bands. So, all in all, despite the fact that we are in the presence of two different albums I
think we can say that both are a complement of each other. Somehow, both works embrace the both
ends of that spectrum, the beauty and the bizarre.
