Atmospheric black metal with some great dungeon synth elements that serve only to amplify the mysterious almost fantastical vibes of the record. Albums that have the ability to transport you into what feels like another world are few and far between but The Outsider goes on that list. 'The Interior Gates of the True Soul' is the gem here but this effort is more about the end-to-end experience rather than any one moment or track. That being said, this track grows and evolves so wonderfully with synth elements used to true perfection. Lo-fi and crunchy but in the end without that added layer of mist on top of the mix this record would probably come off as less powerful. Seemingly gets better each and every time you listen to it and delivers one of the best experiences of 2026 so far.
