Review Summary: They were doing so good too...
Right To Kill is just meh at best and infuriating at worst. The production is boring, William's screaming is lazy, and each track feels like they could be merged together instead of broken up worse than the average relationship in a Real Housewives season.
Dedicated to Denis Nilsen starts off with a nice funeral atmosphere over muffled talking. The feeling produced, however, is completely butchered by
Cock Dominant and
Tit Pulp, two tracks that have basically the same synth screeching outline and do nothing different.
Gilles de Rais is guilty of abusing synth sounds and scratching as well, but it also puts the sound through continuous frequency changes, only to run right back into same old, same old with
Pro-Rapist.
Death Penalty racks up a continuous static noise that continues off into
The Streetcleaner which creates a softer static but also includes William's voice from time to time.
By now I am already shocked as to the severe mediocrity that is this record, but it only gets worse when I hear
Bloodfucking. This gargantuan garbage is filled to the brim with the same screech that was used in the previous tracks before
Death Penalty. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph even William's screaming sounds completely lazy at this point. It's as if he just got bored with the whole thing and churned out this album since it was right on schedule with Denis Nilsen's trial escapades. Everything after that is just the same, with basically no difference whatsoever.
The damn screeching has been milked so hard the udder is shriveled, the cow's dead, and the farmers have already butchered her and sold her to Burger King for a reduced price.
Right To Kill holds the distinction of being the most disliked album by most Whitehouse fans and it isn't hard to see why. This album is just one long, arduous trek through the same crap William had been spewing out from the beginning, only this time he does so without shame. It is disappointing and I consider this one of the reasons why Whitehouse took a hiatus in 1985.
