3.0 goodFerretmusic | January 18th 26

Ov Sulfur employes many of the same attributes of lorna shore, it's polished symphonic blackened deathcore with vocal gymnastics and breakdowns (which are thankfully not overdone and not taking over the focus) which makes it hard not to compare and ultimately prefer lorna shore.rIt's all done well though, songs like 'vast eternal' and 'a world away' have a lot of offerrMy biggest complaint is there's too much clean vocals, while mostly put in to enhance the mood, there's the ballad 'wither' which I could have done without. I still managed to enjoy the album as a whole, I would just like something more than the tropes in the subgenre
