As a Tina Turner super fan, I feel like this singular album is the album that represents the type of singer Tina has wanted to be. She's admitted that she didn't really like "What's Love Got to Do With It" and I think she really revived "Proud Mary" in her concerts just to be nice to the fans. But over the years, songs like "Steamy Windows," "Undercover Agent," and "The Best" have played key moments in her concert line ups. The album is sassy and upbeat when it needs to be but it also is soulful and serious on tracks like "I Don't Want to Lose You" and "Be Tender With Me Baby." The average person probably has no idea this album exists but most Tina fans know that Tina was very proud of this album that came out around her 50th Birthday and she toured the world with an electrifying, sexy, and energetic concert tour. One last note of irony, i think the namesake track of the album "Foreign Affair" is the weakest and silliest performance of an otherwise solid album from a 50 year old woman. How often do we see that anymore?
