"I like the guy's talent but he's not traumatized enough to be singing like this" is one hell of a wild take lmao

What's with all this hate??
It's great that they've been trying different stuff from their previous works, while not sounding
like a complete sell-out like many classic days nu metal bands.

Holy shit, "I like the guy's talent but he's not traumatized enough to be singing like
this" is an insult to every heavy/aggressive music creator.

This album cover looks a lot like the Jivebomb LP album cover.

It’s kinda wild that the same band, within just a span of 3 albums, recreated the entire arc of early 2000s nu metal.
1) Wow this is pretty great.
2) Holy shit this is fucking awesome. I want more of this!!
3) J/k I think I’m good.

While they certainty tried to expand their sound, it really didnt work: vocals sound really strained... in a comedic way (add that with the occasional misplaced sound effect) , guitars are messy and lack substance. Album ends up lumbering and directionless.

While I've liked all of their albums so far, it's really nice that this album is leaner and more focused. Max's move to bass is a great addition to the sound. No bad tracks, Augmented and As Fate Undoes tie for the catchiest, but A Primeval Detachment is the most memorable one for sure. Also,
"I like the guy's talent but he's not traumatized enough to be singing like this" is one hell of a wild take lmao [1]

A primeval detachment is a great song. Rest is too much experimentalism. Band is out of focus. It was better with Matriphagy's formation.

The music itself is solid. The vocalist is very technically good in this band and obviously very
talented but I just can't get over the cringe of copying Jonathan Davis' meth fueled delivery
without experiencing any trauma himself.

Edit: Yeah sorry I just think a guy moaning and groaning like he's been tormented when he's a
successful youtuber is just cringe
