It would be very easy to write this off on first listen with how "samey" it comes off, but each
song has something that sets it apart. The track list is very well-paced, and if you find
yourself thinking it sounds too similar, that's just when she's about to change things up - all
without delineating from the tonal theme of the album. My biggest complaint with this package is
how confined Kali's vocal approach is; with how little variation there is, any small hook
sounds like a grand undertaking in the scheme of things. At 14 tracks, it's only natural to
experience some form of burnout on this type of consistency; the final four songs fail to send
her off on a high note (though you could make a case for the closer). I'd 4/4.5 it for sure if
she cut it after Daggers!.
