A very nice mixture of post-metal, gothic rock and blackgaze elements which starts off with an absolutely splendid duo in 'Cowardice' and 'The Beaten Path Made Flesh' and remains consistent throughout. Ainsoph does a great job combining scratchy guitar tones and clean sung vocals that sound sometimes like an ethereal angel and at other times like a haunting witch. The production itself is a wonderful match for the riffs and instrumentation as the band really comes off as sounding live in the studio rather than perfectly polished and artificial. That effect really suits their overall sound. 'Cowardice' acts as an extended intro with great guitar leads and atmospheric vocals before 'The Beaten Path...' ups the energy introducing top shelf guitar riffs and some excellent blast beats to contrast the atmospheric instrumentation. Personally that second track is in my top ten tracks of 2025 so far. Outside of those two the final track 'Purple Curtains' does a great job concluding the project and showcasing the potential of this project.
