| 5.0 classic | Vlexis | June 20th 25 | Definitely my favorite thing Vildhjarta has done. Songs are very unpredictable and intricate, vocals are outstanding, production sounds great. The atmosphere is moody and mysterious--sometimes aggressive and full-throttle, sometimes wondrous and ambient. There is so much going on that it takes multiple listens to fully parse.

| 4.5 superb | TheForbiddenFool | June 2nd 25 | Micro-dosed and gave this a full listen, it was an experience to say the least. It's by far my favorite work they've done.rSuperior to their last album in almost every single way, but I can see the complaints about it being a bit too "riff-salad" at times.rBut there's just no other band that really does what they do, it borders on feeling "alien".rThere's guitars rhythms and tones that I honestly have never heard created by anyone else.rWill def be in my Top 10 this year.

| 4.0 excellent | DarthHideous1 | June 1st 25 | No shot this is as good as Masstaden or MUV, but still great none the less with some of their best songs like sargasso

| 4.5 superb | MrxSelfxDestruct | May 31st 25 | Their best work by far. Works very well as a record, but not very good for casual listening. It's still a bit too messy to be a classic, but the hooks and melodies are stronger and more distinct than they've ever been without losing the beautiful textures and atmosphere that frames them. If it had a few more strong tracks that stood out, it would be perfect. These guys definitely zeroed in on what works.

| 4.0 excellent | FrozenFirebug | May 31st 25 | Actually quite interesting texturally and compositionally, it's like Meshuggah crossed with Polyphia if either of those bands made music. Or more specifically, like Vildhjarta, if they made music. Fun atmospheres and note bending that weave in and out of each other and really make the most of what "Djent" can be, with a coherent underlying rhythm to everything that ties it together nicely. Nary a sizeable riff to be seen, but also gone is the talentless chugging horseshit of yesteryear and its accompanying cluster headaches - they're actually doing something besides being a screaming infant/barking dog-level annoyance here, and I'm happy they were finally able to. Keep an open mind for this one, even if you can't stand their other work, or the work of their contemporaries, is what I'm saying here.

| 3.5 great | Ferretmusic | May 31st 25 | Less repetitive than prior releases, and not relying on tradition song structures, this album plays around with disjointed angular riffs rising and falling. The melodies are there, the hypnotic grooves are there, and the result is a very strong album

| 4.0 excellent | derkaderka | May 30th 25 | Even if every song on here sucked absolute ass, it would still be better than the last album thanks to the inclusion of den spanska känslan. I don't really feel like sucking postmanpat off, so I'm also inclined to agree this might be better than Måsstaden. 69420lmaothall or something idk.

| 3.0 good | Tundra (Sput Villain) | September 9th 25 | The album can be undeniable at times. Vildhjarta are able to create a world in their music that's completely unique. The utilisation of synths and ethereal guitars is so trippy and almost hypnotising. However, there is another side of the coin which is a fair bit more ugly. The ideas are simply stretched too thin on the album. The album is so long and the impact is unfortunately lost by around half way through. Too much of a good thing can be bad and that's exactly what is happening here. There's simply too many songs, or perhaps theres too many that fail to make a big impression. The whole center of the album is quite spotty. Some obviously feeling like filler to me personally. Its the epitome of a mixed bag. Has very high highs and then some songs that are quite literally white noise in the background.

| 3.5 great | jmh886 | July 28th 25 | mixed feelings about this one. on the one hand it's just a bunch of wankery. on the other hand, said wankery sounds really cool throughout. on the other, other hand, it is very samey throughout.

| 5.0 classic | AnimalsAsSummit | July 14th 25 | If we were still in the age of djent, this would have multiple reviews. Amazing masterpiece of an album.

| 4.0 excellent | V3XED | June 24th 25 | Some phenomenal tracks, and liking some of the experimentation on vocals as well. Overall though? Hmm, doesn't quite have the same amount of special sauce as their last LP

| 4.5 superb | ShapeOfJizzToCum | June 6th 25 | Oh this rules, what a fun and sick album. I could see this landing at a 4.5, so many wonderful parts I can't wait to listen to this enough to really have it in my head. EDIT: Havinng listened to this upwards of 10 times in its entirety now, yeah this is a masterpiece. Incredible. Djenre has peaked.

| 4.5 superb | JakeElPerro | June 6th 25 | Excellent execution, ambitious and pretentious, as an album by this type of band should be. One of the best of the year. Didn't you like it?... Well, cry me a river.
