Review Summary: Pacbossb is a phenomenon from outer space, an orbital supernova in the universe of the rap game, and an alien in the oversaturated trap scene.
Pacbossb is a phenomenon from outer space, an orbital supernova in the universe of the rap game, and an alien in the oversaturated trap scene.
While Pop It Offff uses relatively familiar tropes of modern hip-hop i.e. monotonous autotuned flow on a single-pitched note, a couple of distinctive features make Pacbossb stand out. The most prominent aspect must be the use of vocal effects, a considerable amount of reverb – it alternates the voice texture, adding a feeling of outlandish entity behind the mic. The other one is the intense use of keyboards and its melodic development; and the beatmaker is not afraid to keep the raw, even violent sound to produce a remarkable piece.
While aliens might exist, it looks like they share the same problems as humans; at least the lyrics also reflex on pussy, money, and firearms. Intergalactic hoes must be jumping out of their pants when the big-headed shawty gets behind the mic.
Stylistically this new release follows up on the previous tracks by Pacbossb Routine and Up. The interstellar vibe remains, while the artist definitely shows an improvement in his ways of sound production and songwriting. The creative approach behind the series of singles positions Pacbossb as a charismatic enigma worthy of keeping an eye on.
