Review Summary: Bands tend to make bland albums that aren't memorable but some actually make something worth remembering like this unknown band from Lille, France: From Dying Skies

From Dying Skies is:
Thomas Beltran-Screams
Francois Matus-Bass/Clean Vocals
Edwin Laurent-Guitar
Arnaud Cauet-Guitar
Florian Urbaniak-Drums

First off, bands rely on influence from other bands to write their own music and you can clearly tell that this band has influences ranging from older "Emo" acts and newer "Post-Hardcore" bands. This band seems to pull their influences into their music well however they're not creating anything new but they definitely bring their own cards to the table so-to-speak. Before i get to in-depth with this record I would like to note that you really have to have a keen taste for this genre considering a handful of bands in this genre repeat the same routine with their instruments and "breakdowns".

Now on with the record...I personally think track-by-track reviews should stick to class rated albums not just albums someone can praise. The whole feel to this album is the key element of experience as the lyrics aren't very mature or unique. The opening track "We Will Be Okay" really sets the mood for this album and it carries into the next track pretty nicely already showing off the ranges of the band's style such as the use of the keyboard and the vocals. The vocals are definitely interesting however once again nothing new but still great in terms of preference because while the clean vocalist Francois Matus has the ability to blend in well with the music, the scream-vocalist Thomas Beltran can really give you that powerful hardcore feel to the album.

The instruments seem to be well-organized but don't particularly stand out on their own that much. The guitar really sets the mood mostly with the clean vocals but it doesn't do anything new. The bass isn't too audible but that's to be expected throughout this genre. The drumming is not too shabby because it's not spectacular but it keeps rhythm and flow pretty well.

I keep pushing the fact that the key element to this band is the vibe to the album because it's clearly the standing point to this band. The instrumentation fits well even though it's nothing new it's nothing to scoff at if you have high expectations. Is this the future of the "Post-Hardcore" genre? No but it certainly is a fresh chapter in this worn-out scene.

The album isn't for stream but some tracks are:

This is the best/worst generalization I've ever read in a review, so props to you for that.

Not trying to be negative, just pointing out things that you can improve if you want to review music. People will jump on you for writing generalizations like that, especially when they're not true. BTW, I wasn't the one who negged the review; I generally don't neg first time reviewers because, hey, I was a first time reviewer at one point, and my first review wasn't great either.

Just giving you some tips, mmmkay?
