Review Summary: Twomoonsaway is a relatively fresh emogaze band from the US that brings a handful of new ideas to the table. With their latest album “so good” the New Jersey quintet shows off their peculiar songwriting abilities and charming vocals.

Twomoonsaway is a relatively fresh emogaze band from the US that brings a handful of new ideas to the table. With their latest album “so good” the New Jersey quintet shows off their peculiar songwriting abilities and charming vocals.

As the band states their music recommended for night time use, and that makes sense. With the ethereal grooves of rayla and just like a movie I couldn’t help but imagine walking at night on a dusty suburban road when it’s still hot from the day before and I am slightly drunk.

doubletime kicks off with some heavy-er bass and intense riff, showing some more classical emo tunes and colours. With the closing guitar melodies enters the groove of the album highlight – polaroid.

This one is my personal favourite, an original hardcore anthem FFO Meneguar and Circa Survive (the best parts of it). The combination of loud and silent sounds, clear and screaming vocals. And the anxiety-building bridge part that ends with a cathartic riff worth of the golden age of ATDI.

quiet offers a slower dive into post-rock and shoegaze, which the band is obviously in love with. I must note the outstanding bass tone and an absolutely heartbreaking melody.

allforyou and hesitate add up some classic emo in the vein of Fugazi and The Evens. redwine sums up the album with a heartfelt youth hymn, upbeat and lifting.

"so good" really turned out to be so good.
