2.5 average | If being sexy is a crime, Im under arrest for selling ketamine to 5th graders | September 18th 24 | Recorded over the span of 15 years in 5 different recording studios across 3 US states (and India!) and mixed by not one but three people, it's almost impossible to comprehend why this album sounds so much like shit, and I love this! rMatt Tucci labels his music as progressive metal, but this is indisputably garage rock. The bass is crunchy and sounds good, but everything is distorted and compressed into oblivion, to the point where background noise becomes irritating once the music stops (and it probably clips too). Not a problem to me, I listen to fucktons of shitty music recorded with a coronary pacemaker.rWhat was really a deal breaker for me was the way Tucci writes vocal melodies: they just straight up suck and lack any glimpse of inventiveness whatsoever 90% of the time. He sings the root note of the chord, and when the chord changes, he sing the root note of the new chord. Dome of Heat is one of the rare songs in which this doesn't happen as heavily, and it's one of the best songs for that reason.rToo bad, because the instrumental parts were occasionally interesting (the very first seconds of the album got me very intrigued).
