As is the case with literally everything they've ever done, "Bird in Paradise" sounds fantastic. However, it does not feel like the band really explored methods of making innovative their most overt Latin-sounding album yet. Hoist by their own standards perhaps, but "Birds in Paradise" feels a bit one-and-done.
