I?m kind of impressed by this debut album from the ex-BROCKHAMPTON member. JOBA (or Russell Boring) flexes his ability to create jamming and hooky piano and art rock tracks that feel on par with Billy Joel. Russell creates some truly intense and thematic sounding tracks here and he puts his own heart into each track. But for how great this album is, it does have a hard time really being entirely unique. I mean the market for memorable piano rock is pretty small in our year of 2024, but still. Just hoping for more of this and then some into the future.
