I dont get why the majority is regarding this album inferior to previous releases. I think Schammasch works wonderfully with the overall more dynamic and sightly softer approach. The hard parts are still there and they shine even more in conjuction with the quiter sections. I believe they are (and always were) aiming to be at least a little mysterious and this works better with more variety (and conversely, less classical bm) in song structures.

A new direction, or at least a further step forward for the band....less extreme more poetic. Clean singing, spoken word, and gothic stylings though proved a bridge too far for me. Almost saved by the epic last track, the 51 minutes (shorter than most Schammasch releases) seemed to drag on too long.
