| 4.0 excellent | Johnny Maccaroni | November 5th 24 | My only gripe with this album is that Sirens sounds so out of place... either way this is such a solid release.

| 5.0 classic | Purgeboi | September 4th 24 | This band sure loves to fly close to the sun whilst also not crashing to their doom. Too polished to be black metal, not vile enough to be death metal, weaves a fine line between all the -core genres you can imagine and to add the cherry on top, Wanderlust still contains those epic atmospheric blackgaze-like layers which defines that trademark Illyria sound - for some absolutely bizarre reason, this album works as it's own proggy mesh which makes this band yet again really damn hard to clearly label. I think Illyria's kryptonite is that their overall sound is so vastly ambitious for most audiences taste that unless you appreciate all the different sub-genres Illyria covers or you're a prog metal fan, one or more aspect whether it's vocals or instrumentation is going to potentially lead to a degree of dissatisfaction. Despite that, Wanderlust is definitely the most cohesive album from the band to date and it improves with each listen. Recommended if you like Fallujah, Rivers of Nihil, Black Crown Initiate and more-so that progressive-yet-aggressive modern death metal strand.

| 3.5 great | frozencarl | June 13th 24 | hey look another complete changeup in their style! kinda sounds like their older blackgaze stuff meets metal/deathcore. much better than their attempt at emo/post hardcore on their last album, though it def feels like the band is a bit lost in the sauce identity-wise
