Where 'FREE I.H.' was my AOTY in 2020 because of its grimy, energetic and downright gnarly blend of noise rock/pop/hardcore, 'Power' is just a bit too much of a dynamic shift into power/indie/twee pop with a light rock twist for me to stomach. There isn't a truly bad moment on the record but it also lacks signature great moments and the entire sound feels so clean and familiar when compared to other indie pop/rock outfits. illuminati hotties had such a unique sound on their previous releases but they regress to the mean here with an overall forgettable release. 'Throw (Life Raft)' is a nice track.
