Statik is indeed static (lol), with ambient dominating a soundscape once much livelier full of IDM, outsider house, and minimal techno boom-boomism. Great textures album, but not the most interesting one.

Is that cover the car from 'Karma and Desire' after Darren Cunningham has decided to completely derail and strip of energy all that album has set up? Quiet and patient indeed, but it's like all the effort and engineering has been turned down to mute. The album is like a distant dying party, where the DJ is playing the most boring stuff to get the junkies to finally leave.
